Vic Herrera, Chief Information Officer, is responsible for supporting the technology initiatives for DTT’s mission-critical infrastructure and administrative functions.
Vic started his IT career at Dell Displays in Elk Grove Village in the late eighties setting up stand alone CRM systems. In the Mid Nineties, Vic was offered an opportunity at a major Chicago ISP, Interaccess, there he honed his tech skills working in the trenches and up through the ranks. During the Dot Com era, Vic was an engineer coordinating remote backups for offices in 44 states at Divine. He worked with a team of 6 Engineers, managing an infrastructure of hundreds of servers in locations spread all over the US and Canada. Seeking a warmer climate, Vic headed to California after the turn of the century and started a consulting company managing the server infrastructure for Quality School Portfolio developed by National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing at UCLA (CRESST), for the No Child left Behind program. Several School Districts hosted their Student testing information in this environment. Vic worked extensively with UCLA and Dr. Robert Bortnick to collect and provide critical student test data. During this time, Vic also staffed the successful Schwarzenegger Gubernatorial Campaign with their technical help at their Los Angeles Headquarters. Vic came to DTT early in 2004 to head up the IT Department.
